Manaslu Circuit Trek

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Take this day to rest, recover from your journey, and prepare for the adventure ahead. If time permits, you can explore nearby areas, experience the local culture, or enjoy a leisurely walk through the vibrant streets of Kathmandu.

After breakfast, begin your scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola, passing through beautiful valleys, rivers, and small towns. The journey covers approximately 157 km and takes around 9–10 hours. Enjoy the changing landscapes and occasional glimpses of the Himalayas along the way. Upon arrival in Machha Khola, check in to your lodge, relax, and get ready for the trek starting the next day.

Today, your trek begins in earnest as you leave Machha Khola and follow the Bhudi Gandaki River upstream. The trail winds through lush forests, traditional villages, and terraced fields, offering your first taste of the Manaslu region’s natural beauty and rural life. After approximately 13.5 km of trekking over 7–8 hours, you will arrive in Jagat (1,410 m), where you’ll rest for the night in a local teahouse, preparing for the journey ahead.

Today’s trek takes you deeper into the Manaslu region as you follow scenic trails along the Bhudi Gandaki River. You’ll pass through small villages, terraced fields, and lush forests, witnessing local life and culture along the way. The trail gradually ascends to Dyang (1,800 m) over a distance of 20 km, which takes approximately 7–8 hours. Upon arrival, settle into a teahouse, enjoy the serene surroundings, and rest for the next day’s trek.

Today, the trail gradually ascends through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages, offering beautiful views of the surrounding hills. You’ll pass local communities, experiencing the unique culture and lifestyle of the Manaslu region. Trekking approximately 19 km over 7–8 hours, you will reach Namrung (2,660 m), a charming village where you’ll stay overnight in a teahouse and enjoy the tranquil Himalayan atmosphere.

Today, the trek takes you higher into the Manaslu region as you gradually ascend through dense forests, alpine landscapes, and traditional villages. The trail offers stunning views of terraced fields, gushing rivers, and surrounding Himalayan peaks. Covering approximately 18 km in 7–8 hours, you will arrive at Shyala (3,500 m), a serene village where you’ll spend the night in a teahouse, resting and acclimatizing for the higher altitudes ahead.

This morning begins with a visit to the sacred Pungyen Monastery, where you can experience the spiritual atmosphere and observe local Buddhist rituals. After the visit, continue your trek along scenic trails through alpine forests and traditional villages. Covering around 17 km over 5–6 hours, you’ll arrive in Samagaun (3,585 m), a picturesque village nestled at the base of Mount Manaslu. Settle into your teahouse, enjoy the stunning mountain views, and rest in preparation for the challenging high-altitude trek ahead.

Today is dedicated to acclimatization and preparing your body for higher altitudes. You’ll embark on a hike from Samagaun to Manaslu Base Camp (4,800 m), enjoying breathtaking views of glaciers, snow-capped peaks, and the surrounding Himalayan landscape. The round-trip trek covers approximately 13.5 km over 5–6 hours. Return to Samagaun in the evening, where you can relax at your teahouse, rest, and enjoy the serene mountain environment before continuing the journey.

Today’s trek is shorter but involves a steady ascent as you make your way to Dharmasala, also known as Larkya La Phedi (4,460 m), the base camp for crossing the famous Larkya La Pass. Covering approximately 6 km in 4–5 hours, the trail passes through alpine landscapes with stunning views of glaciers, snowy peaks, and rugged terrain. Upon arrival, settle into your teahouse, rest, and prepare for the challenging high-altitude crossing ahead.

Today is the most challenging day of the trek as you cross the Larkya La Pass (5,106 m), the highest point of the Manaslu Circuit. The climb is steep and demanding, but you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and glaciers. After conquering the pass, begin the descent to Bhimthang (3,790 m), covering approximately 16 km over 8–9 hours. Upon arrival, relax at your teahouse, rejuvenate your body, and celebrate this incredible achievement.

After a hearty breakfast, begin your descent from Bhimthang (3,720 m) to Gho (2,550 m). Today’s trek offers a gentler pace as you move through alpine meadows, riversides, and traditional villages, enjoying the changing landscapes and local culture. The gradual descent allows you to relax your muscles while still taking in the stunning scenery of the Manaslu region. Arrive in Gho in the afternoon, where you’ll stay overnight in a cozy teahouse.

Today, you continue your descent from Gho (2,550 m) to Dharapani (or Besisahar Bazaar, 1,910 m). The trek is relatively short, taking about 3–4 hours, passing through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and riverside trails. This section offers a relaxing pace, allowing you to reflect on the journey so far and enjoy the serene landscapes. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and rest, celebrating the successful completion of the Manaslu Circuit trek.

On the final trekking day, descend from Dharapani (1,910 m) to Besisahar (760 m), passing through charming villages, terraced fields, and riverside trails. After completing the trek, embark on a scenic drive of approximately 224 km back to Kathmandu, where you’ll check into your hotel. Use the evening to relax, freshen up, and reflect on the incredible Manaslu Circuit journey you’ve completed.

Today marks the conclusion of your Manaslu Circuit Trek adventure. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, for your onward flight.
