Nepal Visa Information

  1. Visa on Arrival
    Most travelers can get a Tourist Visa on Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) or at authorized land border points. Complete the online application within 15 days before arrival for faster processing, or fill out the form at airport kiosks.

  2. Required Documents

    • Valid passport (at least 6 months remaining, 1 blank page)

    • Recent passport-size photograph

    • Visa fee in cash (preferably USD; cards may not be accepted)

  3. Visa Fees & Duration

    • 15 days: USD $30

    • 30 days: USD $50

    • 90 days: USD $125
      Fees may change, so check the Nepal Department of Immigration website before travel.

  4. Visa Extensions
    Tourist visas can be extended in Kathmandu or Pokhara. Minimum extension: 15 days (USD $45). Maximum stay: 150 days per calendar year.

  5. Gratis Visa & Important Notes

    • Free visa for children under 10 (except U.S.), SAARC nationals (except Afghanistan), Chinese nationals, and Non-Resident Nepali cardholders.

    • Passport must be valid for 6+ months.

    • Always renew/extend your visa on time to avoid fines, detention, or deportation.
